How Can I Make a Difference in My Community?
Join Your Local Coalition
Join your local coalition. A community coalition is a group of people who have identified common interests and act together to achieve them. They provide an opportunity to serve as a forum to share information and resources to consider a problem from different angles and to combine forces to resolve it. Coalitions are in need of community members to help with their efforts and to hear from different sectors of the community in order to make informed decisions.
Talk to Others
Let people know about your concerns. Talk with your leaders in your community about the issues you are troubled about. Help with community events and efforts that aid to decrease substance abuse and misuse by using your voice. Have discussions, comments on Facebook posts, start those conversations that can aid in more awareness and education. Do your research and know the facts.
